The challenge

High levels of integration with centralised control

ADEK was looking for a new open-platform security system that would enable centralised control and the integration of several other systems. It wanted flexible, futureproof technology that would improve security, provide more convenient, touchless access for employees and visitors, and enable easy tracking of employees’ attendance. ADEK also wanted to avoid any downtime in its existing setup during the switch to a new system.

What they did

A flexible, futureproof system

After a detailed review, Nedap’s AEOS access control system was implemented with one central server and database. Thanks to AEOS’s open architecture, it’s been integrated seamlessly with several other systems, including visitor management, a smart time and attendance application and Oracle ERP. Third-party speed gates, integrated with Nedap’s NVITE multi-technology reader, also enable touchless access via facial recognition, virtual IDs and QR codes.

Key benefits

  • ADEK can stay in control of access, its centralised system supporting its daily operations.
  • Virtual IDs improve security and remove the need for employees to carry plastic cards.
  • Touchless access increases convenience and hygiene levels.
  • Employee attendance can be easily tracked, and productivity calculated.
  • ADEK has the flexibility to integrate more systems and technology in the future.

“Nedap and EPM have worked together to meet every one of our requirements. We now have a smart, centralized system with each element integrated in a streamlined way. It’s enabling much closer, more efficient management of access and operations. And we feel reassured that we have the option to easily make changes and additions, as and when we need to in the future.”
