The challenge
Keyless access control
ING’s 600 branch offices in Belgium had intrusion detection and camera surveillance but key management had become a problem. They were finding it very difficult to keep track of physical keys and who was authorised to use them. ING needed an access control system for its branch offices. And, for increased security, it wanted authorisations to be assigned to the cardholder rather than the access card.
What they did
Centralised security with local management
AEOS was already in use at ING headquarters and regional offices. They were pleased with the system and so decided to expand it to ING’s Belgian branch network. All branch offices could now be connected to a central database, while lower-level security managers could handle authorisations. To prepare for installation, ING created authorisations centrally in AEOS. Our business partner then defined the configuration and uploaded it for quick on-site installation.
