Having built a strong customer base in Saudi Arabia over the last two decades, we’ve taken our long-term commitment to the region even further by opening an office in the Kingdom. It marks an important step in strengthening our presence in the Middle East. And reflects our commitment to working even more closely with partners and customers in the Kingdom at this pivotal point in its development.

Security is evolving in the Kingdom
Saudi Arabia continues to see significant investment in large-scale infrastructure, smart cities, and modern workplaces. As these environments grow in scale and complexity, so too do the requirements for security systems – not only for protection, but to connect people, assets, and operations across multiple sites.
Longstanding experience in the market
For more than twenty years, we’ve seen these changes developing as we’ve worked in the Kingdom and developed a proven track record of deploying security solutions here, across a variety of sectors. A local office will enable us to engage more closely with our partners and projects, supporting more direct collaboration throughout the entire security system lifecycle.
Strengthening our presence in Saudi Arabia
“Saudi Arabia is a key market for Nedap Security, both in terms of scale and long-term development. Our installation base in the Kingdom has grown considerably over the last few years,” says Maarten van Cauwenberghe, Managing Director META & APAC at Nedap Security. “Establishing a local presence allows us to be closer to our partners and customers, and to support projects that require flexible, integrated security solutions.”
Safe hands for Nedap’s Saudi Arabia office
To lead our activities in Saudi Arabia, Junaid Ul Haq has been appointed as Country Director, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Having been with us for 18 years, he brings a deep understanding of the company’s solutions and how security requirements evolve over time. Based in the Kingdom, Junaid will focus on strengthening partnerships, supporting customers, building a strong team and contributing to the development of security solutions across key sectors.
“Junaid understands both our technology and the realities of delivering projects in the region. That combination is essential as we establish a local presence in Saudi Arabia. And we are confident he’s the right person to lead this next phase.”

Personally invested in the region’s future
While the opening of the office marks a strategic milestone, it is also a personal one.
“For me,” says Junaid, “being part of this journey in Saudi Arabia is truly meaningful because you can see the pace of transformation happening across the Kingdom. It’s not just about our projects, it’s about contributing to something larger that’s shaping the future. Being here allows me to experience the culture, build genuine relationships, and play a role in supporting the Kingdom’s long-term vision. That sense of purpose goes beyond professional growth.”
A long-term, strategic approach to security
Junaid notes that current developments in the Kingdom are having a fundamental and positive impact on security installations. “What stands out in Saudi Arabia today,” he observes, “is the scale, ambition, and forward-thinking nature of projects here. There’s a strong focus on integrating advanced technologies from the outset, rather than treating security as an add-on. And we’re seeing increased emphasis on scalability, interoperability, and long-term adaptability. Stakeholders are looking for solutions that can evolve alongside the rapid development taking place, which is reshaping how projects are designed and implemented.”
Being on the ground makes a big difference
In this environment, Junaid recognises that being physically present makes a significant difference. “It allows for earlier engagement in the project lifecycle, closer collaboration with customers and partners, and a much deeper understanding of local requirements and expectations,” says Junaid. “It also enables faster response times and more effective support, both technically and commercially. Ultimately, having a presence on the ground builds trust and ensures we can deliver solutions that are better aligned with the market’s specific needs.”
Opening up future opportunities
Our portfolio includes our AEOS access control platform, Physical Identity & Access Management (PIAM), mobile credentials, RFID readers, and locker management –all built on open architecture principles.
With this new office in Saudi Arabia, we aim to support the next phase of development in the region, working alongside partners and customers to design security systems that can evolve with increasingly complex environments.
